Carole DeMille Award

Recipient of the Carole DeMille Award from the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), 1992.
This award recognizes an ICP who possess the ideals of Carole DeMille, a founder of APIC: "knowledge of the past and a vision of the future"  As a visionary, Nancy challenges her clients to keep "one eye focused on the present - with all its problems and issues- and the other eye focused on prevention and the issues on the healthcare horizon.

Commendation from the Chief of Police,
Lincoln, Nebraska, February 10, 1992

Chief, Allen Curtis, commended Nancy with a Citizens Certificate of Merit for outstanding service to the department. Nancy was recognized for her extensive education of police officers regarding infection prevention and universal precautions to prevent HIV infection. In support of this award Chief Curtis said, "For an individual to commit this much time and energy into informing an outside agency on matters concerning their own health, truly is a comment on your character and dedication to your work. It is through people like you that our community enjoys a higher standard of life." 

Recipient of the 1995 YWCA Tribute to Women
in Lincoln, Nebraska.

This tribute is presented annually to women who make contributions to the community, encourage other women, work to eliminate racism and demonstrate personal and professional growth. Nancy was recognized for her contributions to the health of the Lincoln community.

Recognition from the Department of Health
 in Nebraska for 9 years of service on the Nebraska HIV/AIDS Technical Advisory Committee

Director Mark Horton, MD : " We would like to express our deep appreciation for your valuable contributions while serving on the Nebraska HIV/AIDS Technical Advisory Committee. During your nine years on this committee, the TAC dealt with some very tough issues. We also appreciated your willingness to be considered for subcommittee work. Without dedicated individuals like you, who are willing to give freely of their time and expertise, we would not be able to do our job."

Lincoln General Hospital Employee of the Month 1993 (second time to be so recognized)

Nancy was recognized by her peers at Lincoln General Hospital for her dedication to improve patient outcomes through teamwork. Her nominators wrote, " Nancy’s enthusiasm and support to this hospital go unmatched. She always gives 120 percent to all her projects. She is extremely creative and each year she provides more and more to this hospital." 

 

Nancy has receive numerous awards and significant recognition during her career in the field of Infection Control.
