Working
as a bridge between the U.S.
and Japan, she has educated a
large number of Japanese
healthcare professionals and
supported our efforts to
improve infection control
practices through numerous
seminars and presentations...
I would like to draw special
attention to her presentation
style. As a trainer who
provides infection control
education to nurses, a
consultant who handles Q&A
sessions during individual
hospital visits, and a
clinical specialist who
has a profound knowledge of
surveillance and data
collection, she has taken a
very active role in improving
the quality of our infection
control practice. As can be
seen from her activities, we
have great confidence in her
and need her continued
support.
We look forward to her further
involvement and assistance." (read

Ms. Haberstich has served as a
guest lecturer for the
Certification Program for
Infection Control of Tokyo
Nursing Association in Japan
since the course began in
2004. The topics of her
lectures are: the role of an
infection Control
Practitioner, product
selection, and management an
outbreak (based upon her
experience with the SARS
crisis in Toronto, Canada in
2003).
Our Certification Program in
Infection Control is a 6-month
course conducted in Tokyo,
addresses the critical need
for qualified Infection
control nurses for Japan’s
9,000 hospitals. Nancy’s
lectures and her experience in
the USA are valuable to our
students as they prepare to
fill the role of ICP in Japan.
Student evaluations following
her lectures capture the
benefit to the students in
this course:
・ The
lecturer was really easy to
understand and full of energy
・ Thank
you very much for letting me
hear about the valuable
experiences of this senior
colleague and for all the
encouragement.
・ I
heard the valuable experience
and much encouragement from an
authority, and it has given me
courage. Thank you.
・ Thank
you for your powerful lecture
and kind-hearted advice.
My students will not forget
the message, `I can do it’
that Nancy taught them. We
look forward to her assistance
in the
future.
